U.S. Institute of Peace--Jennings Randolph Program for International Peace The Jennings Randolph Program for International Peace awards Senior Fellowships and Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships to enable outstanding scholars, policymakers, journalists, and other professionals to conduct research on important issues concerning international conflict and peace. Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships: These fellowships are intended to support the research and writing of dissertations that address the sources and nature of international conflict and strategies to prevent or end conflict and to sustain peace. Candidates must be doctoral students at a university in the U.S. Applicants must have completed all course work and exams toward their doctoral degree, by the time their fellowship begins. Stipends are currently set at $14,000 per year and are paid to the Fellow. Senior Fellowships are designed for Fellows to address a range of topics related to the understanding, management, and resolution of violent international conflict. Fellows come from a broad range of professional backgrounds, including government, academia, media, business, religion, law, and humanitarian affairs. These fellowships are undertaken in residence at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., ordinarily for ten months beginning in September. Although there are no degree requirements, most candidates have completed at least an undergraduate degree. Stipends are based on the Fellow's earned income for the preceding twelve months. Eligibility: Citizens of any nation are eligible for both fellowships.
