National Science Foundation--Graduate Fellowships Graduate Fellowships: Fellowships are awarded for graduate study leading to research-based master's or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering supported by the NSF. Linguistics is included within the scope of support. Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States at the time of application. Applicants must be at or near the beginning of their graduate study in science, mathematics, or engineering. Period: 3 years (To be used within 5 years of the first year of award). Amount: $16,800 plus NSF also provides an annual cost-of-education allowance of $10,500 in lieu of all tuition and required fees at U.S. institutions. There is no dependency allowance.
