National Hispanic Scholarship Fund The purpose of the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund (NHSF) scholarships are to assist Hispanic American students in completing their higher education. Scholarships: for graduate and undergraduate students of Hispanic parentage -- Mexican American, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Caribbean, Central American, or South American. Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must be full-time students carrying a minimum of six credits for graduate students and 12 credits for undergraduates. Candidates are chosen on the basis of academic excellence. Amount: $1,000 Deadline: Application period is from August 15 through October 1. Send a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope to receive an application or down load an application from the web site.
