Morris K. Udall Foundation-Native American Summer Congressional Internship The Udall Foundation's Native American Congressional Internship Program places Native American university students in congressional offices during the summer. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in the legislative process, congressional matters and governmental proceedings that specifically relate to Native American issues. The program will also provide networking opportunities with important constituencies in Washington, D.C. Eligibility: Applicants must be a member of a recognized tribe who is a college senior, graduate student or law student. Candidates must have a minimum 3.2 GPA. Candidates must have an interest in tribal government and policy. Period: Summer 1999 Award: A $1,200 stipend to be paid at the conclusion of the internship. A per diem to cover meals, transportation, and incidentals ($34 per day). Interns will also be provided with, airfare, to and from Washington, D.C. and dormitory lodging at a local university.
