NAFSA--Korean Student Assistance Awards Program Under the auspices of the ASPIRE program and with funding from the US-Korean Business Council, the program was developed to facilitate the personal and professional home country reintegration of U.S.- educated graduates, postgraduates, and professionals. The eligible fields of study are business & economics, physical science, computer science, and engineering. Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Korea who are attending an accredited college or university in the United States. Candidates must have a minimum gpa of 3.2 (based on a 4.0 scale). Ph.D. candidates are eligible, provided that they are in their last two years of study and expect to graduate by the end of the 2001-2002 academic year. Individual applications will not be accepted. Applicants must be nominated by their institution. Period: Academic year 2000-2001 (fall semester, spring semester or the entire academic year). Award: Grants range between $1,000 and $5,000 per awarded student. The grants are made to the institution, on behalf of the nominated student. The institution may not transfer the award to another student, nor may the student transfer the award to another institution. Deadline: The application deadline for the 2000-01 competition is June 19, 2000.
