Los Alamos National Laboratory--Graduate Research Program Graduate Research Assistantship: The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) Program is a year-round educational program which provides students with relevant research experience while they are pursuing a graduate degree. In some cases, students can arrange to conduct master’s or doctoral thesis research at the Laboratory. The majority of the appointments are in the technical and scientific disciplines. Eligibility: Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree by date-of-hire, have been admitted, and are in active status in a graduate program at a college or university. Students are selected on the basis of field of study, grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, research interests, and previous work experience. Period: Appointments are available for a minimum of 90 days and up to one year, with option for renewal based upon program requirements. The maximum number of years in the program are 4 years for those pursuing masters degree, 7 years for those pursuing Ph.D's and 8 years for both Ph.D. and masters. Amount: Salaries range from $29,000 to $41,000 per year (salaries are based on education and experience). Deadline: Applications are accepted year-round. The program year runs August 1 to July 31.
