John F. Kennedy Library Foundation--Fellowships The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites scholars and students to apply for support of their research and use of archival, manuscript and audiovisual holdings of the Kennedy Library under the following programs. Only one grant or fellowship application per person can be submitted in a given year. Marjorie Kovler Fellowship: One fellowship is given per year with a stipend of $2,500 for research in the area of foreign intelligence and the presidency or a related topic. Deadline: March 15 Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. Fellowship: One or two fellowships are given per year with a stipend of up to $5,000 for applicants specializing in Kennedy era foreign policy, especially in Latin America or domestic policy during the Kennedy Administration, especially with regard to racial justice and the conservation of natural resources. Deadline: August 15 Abba Schwartz Fellowship: One fellowship is given per year with a stipend of $3,100 for research on immigration, naturalization or refugee policy. Deadline: March 15 Theodore C. Sorenson Fellowship: One fellowship is given per year with a stipend of $3,600 for research on domestic policy, political journalism, polling, or press relations. Deadline: March 15 Kennedy Research Grants: Several (15 to 20) grants are given per year, ranging from $500 to $2,500 for any topic relating to the Kennedy period or requiring use of the holdings. Preference is given to Ph.D. dissertation research, research in recently opened or relatively unused collections and the preparation of recent dissertations for publication, but all proposals are welcome. Deadline: March 15 and August 15 Hemingway Research Grants: Several (five to ten) grants are given per year, ranging from $200 to $1,000 for scholars requiring the use of the Hemingway Collection. Preference is given to dissertation research by Ph.D. candidates and research in recently opened or relatively unused portions of the collection, but all proposals are welcome.
