Journalists in Europe Program Based in Paris, the program combines seminars given by experts in politics, economics and culture with reporting assignments in the field (several trips totaling some 40 days). The program is designed to provide a sound knowledge of Europe and the key issues that affect it today. Eligibility: Open to working journalists from all over the world, between the ages of 25 to 35, with a minimum of four years professional experience and a working knowledge of the program's two languages (French and English). Candidates must be able to read, understand and speak both languages, and be able to write in one of the two. Period: Eight-month training program, from Oct. 1 to May 31 Enrollment fee: There is an enrollment fee of FF 90,000 which includes the travel costs of the reporting assignments and professional visits in Europe. The fee does not cover daily subsistence costs while in Paris. Support: The Journalists in Europe Fund does its best to find full and partial scholarships for admitted candidates. However, it cannot guarantee that financial aid will be available at all. Deadline: January 15 (annually).
