Japan Information Center--Research Students Monbusho Scholarship: for study in the humanities and social sciences: Literature, History, Aesthetics, Law, Politics, Economics, Psychology, Music, Fine arts, and Sociology. Natural sciences: Pure Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Fisheries, Pharmacology, Medicine, Dentistry, Home Economics, etc. Students must be willing to study the Japanese language. Eligibility: Applicants must be US nationals who are under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2000 and have graduated from a university or college by the starting time of the grant. Those who will graduate from a university or college by March or September 2000 may apply. Period: April or October 2000 to March 2002 Award: The award includes, transportation costs to and from Japan; monthly allowances, tuition allowances and fees; and accommodations.
