International Research and Exchanges Board--Study in East Europe

Postdoctoral Research Residencies: for scholars in the social
     sciences whose work encompasses Albania, Armenia,
     Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia,
     Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia,
     Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, as well
     as the Urals, Siberian and Far Eastern regions of the
     Russian Federation. 

Eligibility: US citizenship required. Preference is given to PhDs
     awarded after January 1, 1988. In exceptional circumstances,
     an advanced doctoral candidate may be considered. Must have
     command of host-country language sufficient for andvanced
     research.

Stipend: $25,000

Deadline: November 1 (annually)
