International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX)--Bulgarian Studies Bulgarian Studies Seminar: One-month rants for scholars wishing to improve their knowledge of the Bulgarian language and culture. The seminar, held in Sofia, consists of lectures on Bulgarian language, history, culture, and literature. Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens and have begun formal study of the Bulgarian language. Open to scholars at all levels, from graduate students to full professors. Period: The month of July. Amount: Round-trip airfare and visa fees, tuition, and a stipend for room and board. Deadline: November 1, 1997 for participation during Summer 1998.
