International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP): YSSP is a combined work-study program for a select group of young scientists who are second or third year pre-doctoral students whose proposed field of study corresponds with the Institute's areas of research and interest. Fields of study appropriate for YSSP applicants include, but are not limited to, economics, risk analysis, atmospheric and earth science, global change studies, applied mathematics, statistics, systems analysis, environmental policy, environmental engineering, forestry, remote sensing, geography, physics, chemistry, ecology, international law, energy studies, water resources, political science, and population In 1998, IIASA research projects fall into the following categories: Global Environmental Change, Global Economic and Technological Transitions and Systems Methods for the Analysis of Global Issues.
