Huntington Library Fellowships--Short-term and Long-term Fellowships Huntington Fellowships are awarded for one to five months and carry monthly stipends of $2,000. Applicants must be a doctoral candidate at the dissertation stage or hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree. W.M. Keck Foundation Fellowships for Young Scholars are intended to support the research necessary to complete a dissertation or to begin a new project. They may be held for one to three months and carry stipends of $2,300 per month. Huntington-British Academy Fellowships for Study in Great Britain offers a limited number of exchange fellowships in any of the fields in which the Huntington collections are strong. The tenure of the fellowship is one month. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent. Mellon Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are designed for scholars who hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be pursuing scholarship in a field appropriate to the Huntington's collections. Preference will be given to scholars who have not held a major award in the three years preceding the year of this award. The fellowship period is from nine to twelve months, with an award of $30,000. Barbara Thom Post-Doctoral Fellowship is designed to support a non-tenured faculty member while revising a manuscript for publication. The fellowship carries a stipend of $30,000. Applicants must be pursuing scholarship in a field appropriate to the Huntington's collections and must be in residence during the fellowship. Preference will be given to scholars who received their Ph.D. by 1995. National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowships offer stipends of up to $30,000 for four to twelve months in residence. Applicants must be established scholars at the post-doctoral level and pursuing scholarship in a field appropriate to the Huntington's collections. Fellows must be in residence during the fellowship. Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must have resided in the U.S. for at least three years. Preference will be given to scholars who have not held a major award in the three years preceding the year of this award. Eligibility: Foreign nationals are not eligible unless they have lived in the US for three years. Deadline: Applications will be accepted between October 1 and December 15, 1999.
