The Getty Research Institute--Residential Grants at the Getty Center The Getty Research Institute provides support for scholars at the senior, postdoctoral, and predoctoral levels to undertake research while in residence at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Each scholar year is organized around a specific theme, and the theme for the 2001-2002 academic year is "Frames of Viewing: Perception, Experience, Judgement." Getty Scholars: Nine-month fellowships (September 2001-June 2002) for senior scholars pursuing research related to "Frames of Viewing: Perception, Experience, Judgement." Postdoctoral Fellows: Two-year fellowships (September 2000-June 2002) for scholars whose doctoral degrees have been conferred with last six years. Since this is a two-year fellowship there is no competition for the 2001-2002 year. Predoctoral Fellows: Two-year fellowships (September 2000-June 2002) for doctoral candidates who have completed their qualifying examinations to work on dissertation related to the theme. Since this is a two-year fellowship there is no competition for the 2001-2002 year. Awards: Fellows will receive a stipend, an office at the Getty Research Institute, research assistance, travel funds, an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex, and health benefits.
