German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)--Research Grants

Research Grants for Recent Ph.D. Recipients and Ph.D. Candidates 

The purpose of this grant is to enable Ph.D. candidates and recent
Ph.D. recipients to carry out dissertation or post-doctoral research
at libraries, archives, institutes or laboratories in Germany.

Eligibility: Ph.D. candidates not older than 32 years of age and 
	recent Ph.D. recipients (up to two years after the degree) 
	who are not older than 35 years of age. Applicants should 
	provide proof of adequate knowledge of German (not obligatory 
	for applicants in the engineering or natural sciences).
	Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent 
	residents.    

Period: One to six months between February 1st and July 31st.

Grant: The grant consists of a monthly maintenance allowance,
	international travel subsidy and health insurance.
