German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) German Studies Scholarships: for graduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies in the humanities and social sciences related to German studies and culture. Grants promote the exchange of students and faculty with German institutions of higher learning. Programs include interdisciplinary seminars in German Studies in Canada and the United States, courses in German Studies and language in Germany, research and information visits to Germany, and annual grant. Eligibility: Must be US citizen or permanent resident, or Canadian citizen studying in the US. Candidates must be enrolled full-time. A good knowledge of German is essential. In many cases, the candidate must be nominated by Head of the Department or Dean. Amount: varies depending upon program.
