Fulbright-Hays Senior Scholar Program Award: approximately 600 awards (more than fifty in modern languages and literatures) to American scholars for university lecturing and postdoctoral research abroad. Grants are generally tenable in one designated country for one academic year (shorter periods can sometimes be arranged). Eligibility: US citizenship required. A doctorate is required, in most instances, for lecturers. University teaching experience. Stipend: round trip transportation for the grantee, maintenance for the grantee and accompanying dependents during their residence abroad, a small allowance for incidental expenses essential to supplement dollar grant to lecturers in certain countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
