Fulbright Travel Grants The Fulbright Program is the U.S. Government's premier scholarship program. It enables students and artists to benefit from unique resources in every corner of the world and allows U.S. citizens to gain international competence in an increasingly interdependent world. Each year the Fulbright Program allows Americans to study or conduct research in over 100 nations. Travel Grants: The Travel Grants are available only to Germany, Hungary, Italy, or Korea. They are available to supplement an award from a non-IIE source that does not provide funds for travel or to supplement a student's own funds for study. Eligibility: A Fulbright Full Grant applicant for Germany, Hungary, Italy or Korea may be considered for a travel grant in the event the candidate is not recommended for a full grant. Applicants must indicate on the #5 record card in the application that he/she wishes to be considered for the travel grant. Period: One academic year. Awards: Travel grants provide round-trip transportation to the country where the student will pursue studies for an academic year, supplemental health and accident insurance, and cost of an orientation course abroad, if applicable. Deadline: New York University's deadline is September 18, 2000. The at-large application deadline is October 25, 2000.
