1999-2000 Fulbright Scholar Awards Grants to conduct research and lecture abroad for periods ranging from two months to a full academic year are available to scholars in all academic fields. Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; for lecturing-- Ph.D. and college or university teaching experience at the level of the award sought; for research--a doctoral degree at the time of application or, in some fields, recognized professional standing as demonstrated by faculty rank, publications, compositions, exhibitions, etc.; for some awards, foreign language fluency. Award: An award generally consists of a maintenance allowance for the grantee and accompanying family members, round-trip travel for the grantee, and one or more incidental allowances. travel is usually provided for one dependent of lecturing grantees appointed for one academic year. Deadline: August 1st (annually). Deadlines are 12 to 18 months in advance of the grant period. Late applications are often accepted when vacancies exist.
