Educational Testing Service--Summer Program in Research/Graduate Students Summer Program in Research for Graduate Students: Students selected for the program will be selected to participate in ongoing independent research with access to a mentor in one of the following areas: psychology; education; sociology of education; psychometrics; statistics; computer science; linguistics; educational, occupational, or vocational testing; educational technology; minority issues; testing issues, including alternate forms of assessment for special populations; testing issues associated with new forms of assessment, or policy research. A goal of the program is to increase the number of women and minority professionals in educational measurement and related fields. Eligibility: The program is open to graduate students who are pursuing a doctorate degree in a relevant discipline. Applicants are required to have completed the equivalent of 1 year of full-time graduate study in a doctoral program emphasizing one of the areas above. Candidates must submit a curriculum vita, letters of reference from two individuals who are familiar with the applicant's academic work and official transcripts. Period: Eight weeks: June 7 through July 30, 1999. Stipend: Each participant will receive $3,500, with a supplemental living allowance for a spouse or child ($350), or for a spouse and children ($500), who reside with the intern in Princeton. Participants will be reimbursed for limited travel to and from Princeton, consistent with the ETS travel policy. Deadline: All application materials must arrive at ETS on or before February 1, 1999.
