Ebert (Friedrich) Foundation The program intends to provide an opportunity for qualified American university graduates and post doctoral scholars in the social sciences and related disciplines (sociology, political science, economics, and history). The program is designed to help scholars familiarize themselves with the current state of research in their field in Germany and conduct independent research. Applicants are expected to engage in political dialogue. There are three types of fellowships being offered on an open competitive basis: * Pre-Dissertation/Advanced Graduate Fellowships * Doctoral Research Fellowships * Post-Doctoral/Young Scholar Fellowships Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens who have a special interest in contemporary or past German or European affairs and/or German-American relations (particularly comparative studies). Appropriate knowledge of German is required at the time of application. Awards: DM 1.250,00 for Pre-dissertation or Advanced Graduate fellows; DM 1.390,00 for Doctoral Research fellows; and DM 1.700,00 for Post-doctoral/Young Scholar fellows. Air fare, an allowance for luggage costs, health insurance, books, tuition and fees if applicable, will be covered.
