Dumbarton Oaks-- 2001-2002 Project Grants Dumbarton Oaks makes a limited number of grants to assist with scholarly projects in Byzantine Studies, Pre-Columbian Studies, and Studies in Landscape Architecture. Eligibility: Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to: excavation of a site or a component of a site, materials analysis of works of art and/or excavated materials, and systematic campaign to survey or photograph monuments and objects that are a risk. Pre- Columbian project awards are intended only for the excavation of sites or the documentation and analysis of objects that are in imminent danger, and applicants should provide evidence that such sites or objects are under immediate threat. Period: Awards are made for projects conducted from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. Awards: The normal range of awards is $3,000-$10,000. Deadline: Applicants must contact Dumbarton Oaks by October 1, 2000, to determine if the project is within purview of Dumbarton Oaks. Applications must be postmarked by November 1, 2000.
