Dr. M. Aylwin Cotton Foundation--Awards in Mediterranean Studies Fellowship awards and Publication Grants are available to people of all nationalities for studies in the archaeology, architecture, history, language, and art of the Mediterranean. In this context the word "Mediterranean" is used without geographical limitations. The following awards are offered annually: Fellowship Awards: These will be awarded to persons engaged in academic research, normally of postdoctoral standard (although no formal academic qualifications will be necessary). Fellowships will normally be of one year's duration and in some cases may be renewable. The maximum award is 10,000 pounds. Publication Grants: These grants are intended to defray the costs of publication of academic research already completed or imminently available for publication. Each applicant, who should be either the author or the editor of the work, should supply a brief account of the proposed publication, the name of the publisher, and an estimate of the likely cost of publication.
