Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum-Lippincott & Margulies Summer Intnshp The Lippincott & Margulies Summer Internship Program in the field of graphic, environmental and industrial design was established at the National Design Museum in 1996 to encourage students of design as well as design history/criticism to explore careers in the museum or corporate design profession. Through work in the Museum's extensive holdings of drawings and prints, archives, and related collections, students will gain valuable working insight into the integral role design plays in shaping the communications that permeate the social, business, and cultural environments. Eligibility: College undergraduates and graduate students who have not completed their MA degree. Applicants must be dedicated to a career in design or design history/criticism. Amount: A stipend of $2,500 over a period of 10 weeks. Housing is not provided. Deadline: Each candidate must submit the following materials postmarked by March 31st: Resume, college transcript, two letters of recommendation with at least one letter from a recent or current instructor and a 1-2 page essay describing career goals and specific areas of interest relating to the internship.
