Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute--Fellowship Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's (CHCI) Leadership Development Programs seek to help participants search for and understand their identity as professionals, as Latinos/Hispanics, and as leaders. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, experiences and values, who share a commitment to serve their communities, the CHCI program serves as a learning experience that challenges its participants to continuously respond to a basic question: how does my Latino culture, my being a man or woman, my affiliations, my interests and personality contribute to my being a stronger leader for my community? Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Fellowship: The programs offer recent college graduates and currently enrolled graduate students pursuing careers in public policy the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience in Washington DC. Participants may work on such areas as international affairs, law, women's issues, children's issues, education, media etc. Period: September 2001 through May 2002 Amount: A gross average monthly stipend, domestic transportation to and from Washington, D.C. and major medical coverage.
