The Carolina Minority Postdoctoral Scholars Program The purpose of the program is to develop minority scholars for possible tenure track appointments at the The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The program is funded by the State of North Carolina and places emphasis on Afro-American and Native Americans. Postdoctoral scholars will participate essentially in full-time research and may teach only one course per year. Applications for study of any discipline represented on campus are welcome. Eligibility: Minority individuals who have completed a doctoral degree no later than July 1, 2000 and no earlier than July 1, 1996. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. The program is funded by the State of North Carolina and places emphasis on Afro-American and Native Americans. The primary criterion for selection is evidence of scholarship potentially competitive for tenure track appointments in research universities. Period: Research appointments are for a period of two years. Award: $34,000 per calendar year, health benefits and some funds are available for research expenses, including travel.
