State of California--1998-1999 Judicial Administration Fellowship Program The Center for California Studies developed the Judicial Administration Fellowship Program in response to the need to educate and train professionals and leaders in the growing complexities of the court system. Building on the success of its longtime legislative and executive government fellowships, the California State University, Sacramento Center for California Studies, selects five Judicial Administration Fellows each year to participate in a graduate study and professional development program in judicial administration. Fellows work in administrative or executive offices of local appellate or trial courts. The program also places fellows in the Sacramento or San Francisco Administrative Office of the Courts, in the Judicial Education and Research, and Council and Legal Services. Fellows commit to full-time, regular office hours during the entire course of the fellowship. Extracurricular work commitments, either paid or civic, are not allowed during the regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Academic Program: Fellows earn 12 graduate credits for successful completion of assigned work in the graduate seminar and field assignment. Eligibility: Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor's degree or complete a B.A. or B.S. with graduation by August 1998. There are no preferred majors. Academic backgrounds may be as diverse as Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Sciences, Law and Humanities.
