State of California--1998-1999 Executive Fellowship Program The Executive Fellowship is a graduate education, public service, and professional development program designed to raise knowledge of California government, prepare leaders for public careers, and promote civic education. Office Placements: Fellows work as regular, full-time professional staff in executive offices throughout the downtown capital area. A key feature of the program is the mentoring component. Mentors introduce the Fellows to a vision of public life and the daily operations of work in the public sector. Academic Program: Academic seminars provide Fellows with the opportunity to broaden their learning beyond work experience. Fellows are enrolled as graduate students at California State University, Sacramento. The Program pays application and student fees. During the course of the academic year Fellows earn 12 graduate units in the field of Public Policy and Administration for successful completion of the requirements of seminar and office placement. Eligibility: The Executive Fellowship invites college graduates of all backgrounds and academic disciplines to apply. The program encourages recent graduates, beginning career and mid-career applicants. Period: 1998-1999 academic year Award: A monthly stipend of $1,707. Fellows also receive medical dental, and vision benefits and are eligible for student loan deferment.
