The French Cultural Service--Chateaubriand Scholarship Program

Chateaubriand Scholarship Program: for doctoral students who are
required to conduct research in France on topics in French studies
in the fields of literature, the arts, History and Social Sciences,
in association with a French research institution. 

Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens and have a sufficient
	 French written and verbal proficiency. 

Period:  9 months

Amount:  A monthly stipend of 8600 francs, health insurance and a 
	 round-trip ticket to France.

Deadline: January 14, 2000
