Belgian American Educational Foundation Scholarship: For advanced study during the 2000-2001 academic year, at one of the Belgian Universities or other academic institutions of higher learning. Eligibility: One applicant can be nominated by the Dean of the Graduate School or Professional School of his/her University. The candidate must be a citizen of the U.S. and either have a Masters degree or equivalent degree, or be working towards a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates under 30 years of age with a speaking and reading knowledge of French, German or Dutch are preferred. Period: A ten-month period. Stipend: $13,000. That includes round-trip travel expenses, lodging and living expenses in Belgium. The grant is payable in four installments: one installment of $4,000 payable in the U.S. prior to the Fellow's departure and three installments of $3,000 each, payable at regular intervals, while the Fellow is in Belgium. In addition, the Foundation will cover health insurance for the Fellow. Eligibility: American citizens with a speaking and reading knowledge of French, German or Dutch.
