American Sociological Association--Minority Fellowship Program Minority Fellowship Program: for beginning or continuing graduate students in sociology departments. The purpose of the program is to contribute to the development of sociology by recruiting persons who will add differing orientations and creativity to the field. Students must have academic and research interests, and commitment to the sociology of mental health. Furthermore, students who can approach research on issues relating to minorities from an indigenous perspective will be selected for these awards. Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. The grant is for minority students interested in mental health issues. Applicants must be persons who are Black/African American, Latino/Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Asian-American, or Pacific Islanders. Period: One year; however depending on the availability of funds, the fellowships are renewable up to three years. Stipend: An annual stipend of $14,688 will be given.
