American Philosophical Society--Research Grant Programs Grants are for research only. The Society makes no grants for study, salary replacement, travel to conferences, workshops or to consult with other scholars, for permanent equipment, or assistance with publication or translation. The purpose is to put scholars in contact with the objects of their research.
