American Institute for Economic Research--Visiting Research Fellowship Founded in 1913, the American Institute for Economic Research is located in the scenic Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. The Institute is an independent, non-profit research organization dedicated to scientific inquiry into economic problems and to the education of the general public through wide dissemination of its research results. Visiting Fellowships: Applicants are invited to spend the summer or longer at the Institute pursuing their chosen course of research. The field of research is open, but applicants who are interested in money, banking, and credit; public and personal finance; economic and monetary history; the role of government in society; the methodology of economics; and the role of individual freedom, private property, and free enterprise in economic progress are especially welcome. Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate research findings to a general audience are required. Eligibility: Applicants who have a Ph.D. or have completed all but their dissertation are preferred, but those with demonstrably strong writing skills will be considered.
