American Heart Association--Postdoctoral Fellowships

The fellowships are awarded to beginning investigators for 
further research training in the cardiovascular area including
stroke. Fellows are required to spend 80% of their time in
research. The fellowship is limited to work within nonprofit
institutions in the geographic areas served by the Western
States Affiliate (CA, NV, UT).

Eligibility: Candidates must be U.S. citizens or possess
     current visa with a doctoral degree by the time of
     award action.

Period: One or two years. However, renewal is possible for a
     maximum of three years. 

Stipend: Between $27,000 and $42,000, depending on years of
     relevant postdoctoral training, plus a $3,000 annual
     department grant.
