American Council of Learned Societies--Henry Luce Dissertation Fellowship Henry Luce Foundation Dissertation Fellowship in American Art: for graduate students in any stage of dissertation research or writing; applicants must have completed all requirements for the PhD except the dissertation before beginning tenure. Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents and be a PhD candidate in a department of art history. The candidate's dissertation must focus on a topic in the history of the visual arts of the U.S. Students who have received grants of $5000 or more from the Luce Foundation are not eligible. Period: One year beginning Summer 2001 for the 2001-2002 academic year. Stipend: $20,000 Deadline: Completed application must be postmarked no later than November 15, 2000.
