American Association of University Women--Dissertation Fellowships

Dissertation fellowships are for women who will complete the writing
of their dissertations by June 30, 2001.  Also, applicants are 
expected to receive a doctoral degree by the end of the fellowship 
year. To qualify, they must have completed all course work, passed
all preliminary exams, and had their dissertation proposal or plan
approved by November 15, 2000.

Eligibility: Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Students who
   have held a fellowship for the purpose of writing a dissertation in 
   the year before the AAUW Educational Foundation Fellowship year are
   not eligible. Applicants may apply up to two times for a dissertation
   fellowship on the same topic. All fields of study, except engineering,
   are eligible.

Fellowship year: July 1, 2001 - June 30, 2002

Stipend: $15,000

Deadline: Applications available August 1, 2000 - November 1, 2000.
   Application postmark deadline is November 15, 2000.
