AAAS--Technology Policy Science and Engineering Fellowships The program is designed to provide the RAND Critical Technologies Institute (CTI) with resources for scientific and technical policy issues related to industry; to demonstrate the value of industry-government interaction; and to provide the Fellows with a unique learning experience in public policy. CTI is a federally funded research and development center, which provides research and objective analytical support to the Office of Science and Technology Policy within the Executive Office of the President. Technology Policy Science and Engineering Fellowships: The program is designed for Fellows to spend one-year working at RAND Critical Technologies Institute in Washington, D.C., providing expertise in research and development, technology transfer, international competitiveness, and related issues. Eligibility: Applicants must have a minimum of five years industrial experience as midlevel or senior executives. In addition, applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral level degree at the time of application. Persons with a master's degree in engineering and at least three years post-degree experience may also apply. All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Federal employees are not eligible for the fellowships. Period: The fellowships are for a one-year appointment beginning in September 1998. Also, the fellowships are potentially renewable for a second year, at the agreement of the Fellow, CTI, and AAAS. Stipend: Stipends are negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.
