American Association of University Women--Engineering Dissertation Fellowships Engineering Dissertation fellowships, offered within the science and technology category, are for doctoral candidates in engineering who will have completed all required course work and passed all preliminary exams by Nov. 15, 1999. Fellows must devote full-time to writing their dissertations and receive their degrees at the end of the fellowship year (July 1, 2001 - June 30, 2002). Eligibility: Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents. Students holding any fellowship for the writing of a dissertation in the year prior to the AAUW Educational Foundation fellowship year are not eligible. Period: Fellowship year July 1, 2001-June 30, 2002. Stipend: The stipend for this fellowships is $15,000. These fellowships cannot cover tuition for additional course work.
