American Antiquarian Society--Kate B. and Hall J. Peterson Fellowships 

Fellowships are for individuals who are engaged in scholarly
research and writing in any field of American history and 
culture through 1876. 

Eligibility: Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and
     foreign nationals at work on doctoral dissertations.

Period: One to three months

Stipend: Up to $2,850

Deadline: January 15 (annually)
