American Association of University Women--Community Action Grants Community Action Grants provide seed money to individual women and AAUW branches and states for programs or nondegree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. Projects funded in the past include math and science camps, gender equity training, curriculum development projects, sexual harassment workshops for faculty and students and mentoring programs. Consideration will be given to AAUW branch and state applicants who seek partners for collaborative projects. Collaborators might include local schools or school districts, businesses, and other community-based organizations. Eligibility: Applicants must be women who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Grant projects must have direct public impact, be nonpartisan, and take place within the United States or its territories. Grant period: July 1, 2001-June 30, 2002 (for one-year grants) July 1, 2001-June 30, 2003 (for two-year grants) Grant Range: 2,000-$7,000 one-year grants. $5,000-$10,000 two-year grants.
