American Academy in Rome--Rome Prize Fellowships Rome Prize Fellowships are offered at the Academy in the arts and the humanities and are divided between the School of Fine Arts and the School of Classical Studies. Fellowships in up to eighteen disciplines are offered: Architecture, design arts, musical composition, conservation, historic preservation, literature (awarded by the American Academy of Arts & Letters), visual arts, archaeology, classical studies, history of art, modern Italian studies & post-classical humanistic studies. Eligibility: United States citizens at the time of application. Permanent Residents or individuals who have resided in the U.S. for at least three years at the time of application may apply for the post-doctoral fellowships in the School of Classical Studies. Amount: Stipends range from $10,000 to $20,000 (depending on the terms of the fellowships). It is advisable for all applicants to have additional funds to supplement those offered by the Academy, as stipends are seldom sufficient to meet all expenses. Deadline: November 15 (annually). All applications must be postmarked at a government post office by November 15th. Private meter strips are not acceptable.
