Wisteria was one of
first lines to have its containers and packaging designed by Sue Yabe of the
newly established Shiseido Design Department. The product itself broke with
Japanese tradition. Instead of attempting to reproduce the scent of the
original flower, it combined aromas to create a stylized bouquet. The label’s
abstracted wisteria flower and English text suggest a modern, up-to-date
elegance.
