Ms. Fukuda was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1963, and graduated with both a B.A. and M.A. in painting from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Tokyo. She has won numerous national and international awards over the course of her career, including the Fine Work Prize at the 18th Contemporary Art Exhibition of Japan, 1987, the Yasui Prize at the 32nd Yasui Prize Exhibition, 1989 and the Triennale International Prize at the VII Triennale India in 1991. Her work has been displayed in numerous solo exhibitions and in 30 group exhibitions, and is in the permanent collections of the Nagoya City Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Toyama, the Setagaya Museum of Art, Tokyo and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, to name a few. |
