Chatchai Puipia (born 1964) received his B.F.A.
in painting from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture
and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University; since 1985
he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in
Thailand and has received a number of prizes and
awards in national art competitions. While the relation-
ship between fire and water is explored in much of his
work, his recent large self-portraits indicate a shift
toward his inner conscience.

He currently lives in Tokyo, Japan.
