Cayuse Hands-On Training

NYU has implemented a web based system called Cayuse. Cayuse will allow users to prepare proposals for submission to Grants.gov. The Office of Sponsored Programs is offering several hands-on training courses to allow users to become familiar with Cayuse and how to prepare applications for submission to Grants.gov.

Grants.gov is your source to find and apply for federal government grants. In the past, applicants submitted applications to Grants.gov using PureEdge or Adobe Forms. Using PureEdge and Adobe Forms can be challenging. Cayuse replaces the need to use PureEdge or Adobe Forms to submit an application to Grants.gov. Cayuse allows researchers and their staff to prepare grant applications in an easy to use web-based application.

The Cayuse hands-on training is designed to show users the advantages Cayuse. The training will allow users to learn how to set up professional profiles, search for funding opportunities, and prepare grant application. We look forward to seeing you at one of the trainings listed below!

Registration is required for attendance. To register, please email osp.cayusetraining@nyu.edu and provide your name, training date requested, NetID, email address, department, and phone number.

Cost Sharing

Handouts

Cost sharing is an issue that affects all institutions, and its implications are often the cause of confusion. The program will include a review of the types of costs that qualify for cost sharing, the accepted categories of cost sharing, and the requirements for documenting and reporting it. The panel will discuss the various pressure points with cost sharing, from proposal to award to project closeout.

In addition, the relationships among cost sharing, effort reporting, and indirect cost rates create the need for sophisticated systems to manage the complexities, and the panel will discuss the key points of intersection. Finally, the panel will seek to clarify important risk areas arising from a heightened emphasis on cost sharing in recent audits.
