Libraries

The Bobst Library contains 2.5 million volumes of circulating material. The collection grows by 50,000 volumes annually. Also shelved in the stacks are bound volumes of journals. The Microforms Center is another significant component of the collection-2.3 million microform items to which 40,000 units are added per year. The collection in Bobst supports the research and instructional needs of the university's Washington Square programs. Bobst sponsors workshops throughout the year on how to conduct academic research. Separate libraries support the curricula of the Schools of Law, Medicine, and Dentistry, as well as the Real Estate, Courant and Fine Arts Institutes. Faculty, students and full-time staff with valid NYU ID cards are eligible to use the NYU libraries as well as the consortium and affiliated libraries.
