The Office of Operational Risk Management is comprised of two departments: Operational Risk Analysis and Compliance (ORAC) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). The office is part of the Division of General Counsel. This organizational construct is designed to address the ever expanding and complicated operational risk, compliance, and environmental health and safety issues that are present in a major university. The objective of Operational Risk Management is to identify, control and mitigate those operational risks that inhibit or prevent the university from carrying out its mission. The office places special emphasis upon regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and reputational integrity.
Alan Yood was appointed Associate Vice President for Operational Risk Management in September 2006. He can be reached by email or by calling (212) 998-1443.
