Mandatory Check-In

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires that all new and transfer F-1 and J-1 students report their arrival to NYU. The OISS offers Check-In workshops to enable students to meet this requirement. Failure to attend a mandatory Check-In workshop may jeopardize your ability to remain legally in the U.S.

At the workshop, the OISS will verify that your immigration documents are correct and explain your legal responsibilities. The workshop will last approximately 45 minutes. Latecomers will not be admitted. Limited seating.

You do NOT have to sign up. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. All remaining sessions are held at OISS.

  • September 10 (Wed) at 1 p.m.
  • September 12 (Fri) at 2 p.m.
  • September 12 (Fri) at 3:30 p.m.
