OISS Advisory Board Mission Statement
The OISS Advisory Board was established to serve as the link between the OISS and the NYU international student population. It is the longest-running international student office advisory board in the country.
F-1 and J-1 students at the graduate and undergraduate level meet once a month with OISS staff to articulate the views and concerns of foreign students.
Each Board members brings his/her own unique experiences to form a diverse group that is able to understand the international student experience at NYU and in New York City and is highly aware of international students' needs.
Through monthly meetings with the OISS staff the Advisory Board represents international students on important issues, keeping the OISS in touch with international students' current situations.
Members are selected to serve for a one-semester appointment. Thus, the Advisory Board fits into the schedule of the busiest student, only meeting three times a semester.
