Dating and Relating Living in the U.S. and especially New York City allows many international students to explore different behaviors than they might at home. You might want to have a more active social life than you had before or your behavior may be the same but the environment is different. The purpose of this section is to provide a context for U.S. cultural expectations with regard to dating, friendships, and socializing. An explanation of U.S. alcohol laws and attitudes towards it is included. The OISS, in collaboration with other offices, provides information and programming on these topics.
